The Lapland churches are nice places
for resting while travelling
Churches of Lapland
Many of the Lapland churches are open during the summer months. There are roadside churches both in Finnish Lapland,
Norwegian Lapland and Swedish Lapland.
A roadside church is meant to be a different kind of a stop, a resting place both for your body and yor soul.
In these churches you can make a stop from the travelling routine. The churches are nice places for meditation and even prayer.
Sometimes you can listen to music as well.
A roadside church is a church that:
- is close to a main road
- is open for at least three weeks during summer, at least five days a week and at least five hours a day
- has hosts who serves soft drinks and bisquites
- has some kind of information material
- has toilets for guests
